Psychotherapy and Art Therapy for inner exploration

Growth through psychotherapy digital collage

Welcome to Art Of Insight. I am Kavita and I am here to work with you during your journey to healing and self-understanding.

Therapy is so much more than a way to fix something. In some moments, problem-solving is at the forefront, and in others, it is finding peace and acceptance with our beautiful, messy human condition. Therapeutic sessions can be deep, expansive, challenging, intriguing, grounding and so much more. Sometimes a session is one of these things and sometimes it will be all. Just as we humans have our moods, our phases, our moments… so do our sessions. This is because I will meet you wherever you are, and we will work together from there. This is also because therapy is transformative, and as you change and grow, the therapeutic journey transforms too.

Therapy involves a relationship that unfolds, the way we as humans unfold over our lifespans. As we work together, we deepen trust and co-create the path forward. I offer Psychotherapy and Art Therapy as separate services, but naturally my skills and training in each overlap. Please read what each entails on the Services page, as well as a range of presenting problems that I can assist with. As we work with the presenting issues, people tend to discover other areas of growth and improvements that they hadn’t predicted. Self-connection deepens, stress subsides, relationships become healthier, and a clearer sense of purpose arises.

As an integrative psychotherapist, there are a myriad of approaches I work with. I do not believe that one size fits all. I am also a very curious person; I love learning about different approaches and tools, and I am committed to continued learning and training. I have a holistic approach to therapy which means that all aspects of a person’s experience are relevant; emotional, intellectual, bodily, relational and spiritual. Some approaches my practice is informed by are EFT, Process Work, IFS, Jungian Analysis and ACT. Mindfulness plays a key role in both Psychotherapy and Art Therapy sessions. This is an important part of moving beyond known ways of being, and unhelpful patterns, and letting what is less conscious arise. I value the creative process and often use this to encourage the individual’s capacity to tap into their existing resources and strengths.
